Kulesh, Carrie Instructor Atty. Carrie Kulesh, obtained her BA in psychology from the University of Nebraska and graduated from Creighton University School of Law with a Juris Doctorate Degree. She worked in the Trust Department of First Interstate Bank, now known as Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., and as an associate attorney for Norris & Adams, P.C., Sun City, Arizona. Kurdi, Kort Kort Kurdi has been teaching dance to couples and individuals since 1998. In addition, he is a deejay for clubs, organizations,and businesses, including monthly 70’s & 80’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Dance and Line Dance in SCW. He specializes in line dancing, country western couples, beginner ballroom dancing, and his own dance exercise program in Sun City West. LaConte, Tony & Carole Instructor Tony LaConte has over 60 years of experience as an amateur astronomer and has been a Professional Stargazer for more than 30 years. He and his team have presented Stargazing programs in Arizona for more than twenty years. Tony holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the NY Institute of Technology and numerous graduate level courses in applied mathematics and electrical engineering. Lane, Bill Instructor Bill Lane is a retired mechanical engineer who has been traveling the world for many years with his French wife. Bill has presented monthly travel shows to two large travel clubs for many years. He excels at photography and has sold many photographs at various galleries and craft shows. Lanman, Lorna Instructor Lorna Lanman received her BS and DVM degrees from the University of Illinois. She owned 3 veterinary practices in Illinois before moving to Arizona. She joined the Federal disaster response team in the National Disaster Medical Systems and presently serves as the Team Commander of the West. Dr. Lorna now owns and manages PETSVET, LLC Animal Hospital and Mobile Clinic in Surprise, AZ and resides in Sun City West. Instructor Detailed View
Lantana, Blaise Blaise Lantana is the music director of KJZZ where she listens to artists from various recording labels and selects what goes on the air, choosing from a wide range of Jazz, both past and present. Her programming includes fascinating interviews with many artists including George Benson, Ornette Coleman, Jim Cullum and Wynton Marsalis. They have taught her much about life, especially the resilience, discipline and dedication required to be a successful musician.She began working almost every shift a public radio station in Corpus Christi Texas and moved to KJZZ in 1994. Music has been a part of her life since the age of two, when she began singing, then playing the piano at seven and organ at twelve. She took up guitar in high school and continues to perform jazz and blues with several bands. Her sound has been influenced by classical music, native flute, the jazz of Billie Holiday and Stan Getz and songwriters Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and Jackson Browne. She majored in French and psychology at Rutgers and has studied guitar, voice and dance at other colleges. Blaise jokes that, as a night owl, hosting Morning Edition in Corpus Christi was difficult. She wouldn’t know day from night and was in constant fear of oversleeping. To this day she still breaks into a sweat when she hears the familiar Morning Edition theme song. Instructor Detailed View
Larkey, PhD, Linda Linda Larkey, Ph.D., is a Professor at the College of Nursing and Health Innovation at Arizona State University. Dr. Larkey has over 35 years of experience in teaching, researching, and promoting lifestyle change for optimal health, including dietary guidelines, physical activity and strategies for building resilience. Larson, Cindy Instructor Cindy Larson holds a B.A. in Education from Illinois Wesleyan University and a M.A. from the University of Wisconsin. She has taught in Wisconsin and the Dysart school systems. Currently Cindy is a volunteer at the RH Johnson Library in the reference and data resource center. Leach, Gale Gale Leach's first book, The Art of Pickleball, won the Arizona Book Award in 2007. This success spurred her to try fiction, a lifelong dream. In 2010 she established her own publishing company, Two Cats Press, and published her first novel, Bruce and the Road to Courage, a heroic fantasy for children, along with the books of several other authors. Gale added three more books to the "Bruce and Friends" series, all of which captured multiple awards, and is writing another. She also recently completed the first novel in a new YA epic fantasy series and is seeking an agent for traditional publishing. Besides her love of writing fiction, Gale enjoys singing and playing Celtic music. She lives in Arizona with her husband, two dogs, and one cat. Instructor Detailed View
Lee, Joanne Instructor Joanne Lee grew up in Arizona, in the restaurant business, her great grandpa opened one of the first Chinese restaurants in the valley; she recently found a newspaper clipping of him in the AZ Republic from 1965! Joanne loves to cook, following the teaching of grandparents and father. Her family is from Canton, China, the region famous for soups and different types of cooking techniques, steaming, blanching, boiling, deep frying, poaching, double boiling, stir fry and grilling. She challenges herself to try new things in the kitchen and teaches classes at her restaurant, Anna’s Asian Bistro and Bar. Instructor Detailed View
