Ben, Shaliyah Instructor Shaliyah Ben is a Navajo museum educator and advocate for Diné culture and tradition. She was born on the Navajo Nation in Shiprock, New Mexico and was raised in Phoenix, Arizona where she received her education. She is a graduate of Arizona State University and works at the Education Programs and Outreach Manager at the Heard Museum in Phoenix, Arizona. Instructor Detailed View
Benson, Bill J Instructor Bill Benson has been the teaching nearly all of Sun City West’s swimming classes. As a young boy Bill learned to swim and was a member of swim teams in high school and college. He holds a Master of Science degree from North Dakota State University and after graduation he moved to Wisconsin. There he was a school counselor in the Madison area for 36 years and also taught swimming and coached track. He enjoys swimming and is eager to pass his love of water sports on to his students. Benson’s years of teaching experience and counseling skills has prepared him to work with and support swimmers of all age groups and abilities. Instructor Detailed View
Benz, Kay Kay Benz is an avid and excellent card player. She is President of the SCW Women's Club, was Membership Director for Connections and is active in several annual community fundraising events. Instructor Detailed View
Black, Suzie Instructor Suzie Black is an artist who creates abstract-expressionist works, which effortlessly blend the world of the material with the world of the spiritual. She received her formal training at George Washington University and the Corcoran School of Art, and received advanced degrees in both Art Therapy and Art Education. She continues her studies constantly at such prestigious places as the Art Students’ League and Scottsdale Artist School. Her style is creative, colorful, fun and thought-provoking. Suzie started painting as a child. One day, unbeknownst to her mother (an interior designer and painter), Suzie stole into the family studio and, with oils and canvas at hand, she created her first work. From that moment on she has pursued her love of art and color. As a student and teacher alike, Suzie has created true works of art. Her colorful works have been shown and sold in galleries across the US. She is a juried member of the Sonoran Arts League in Cave Creek, Arizona. Suzie’s recent juried shows include: Taste of Cave Creek: Art in Public Places; Contemporary Show, Cave Creek; and April’s for the Arts Invitational Exhibition. Bland, Jessica Jessica Bland is the Interpretive Ranger at White Tank Mountain Regional Park. Prior to coming to work for Maricopa County in 2013, she worked as a park ranger and an archaeologist for the Federal government for 14 years. Instructor Detailed View
Bofman, Larry Instructor Larry Bofman is a radio personality on KKNT 960 The Patriot. After a successful run with a previous show, Larry wanted to make a difference in our community and in peoples lives. He created the weekly talk radio program, "Life Matters", which soon became a top rated show. "Life Matters" is a fun, entertaining and informational show that focuses on the important matters of life. From health and wellness, personal finance, technology, and entertainment to relationships and personal growth. "Life Matters" covers topics that enrich our lives. Instructor Detailed View
Bruno, Vincent Instructor Vincent Bruno is a rock historian with a focus on The Beatles and The Sixties. Recently retired as Director of First Year Programs at LaGuardia Community College (City University of New York). He holds an MPA from Baruch College and was an adjunct professor for the past 25 years he has taught courses in numerous disciplines including Humanities, Management and Cooperative Education. As a Beatles scholar and storyteller he looks to both embrace not just their legacy but to present an entertaining, interactive and informative session for both the casual listener as well as the hard core Beatles fan. Burridge, Linda Facilitator Linda Burridge is a certified professional coach, muse, and a catalyst for personal change. She spent 35 years as a facilitator, consultant, and global leader in corporate leadership development. As president of Next Act Solutions, she applies her expertise to help others to grow professionally. Burruel, Martha Instructor Martha Burruel is the Education Coordinator at the Alzheimer’s Association. She coordinates and provides education sessions for the community-at-large, individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and their families, and professionals working with dementia. Martha holds a Master’s in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix. Her experience spans 25 years working in the health education arena including HIV/AIDS, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Disease, Immunizations for Children, Breast Cancer, ESL and Parenting Classes, etc. She has worked with all age groups to design and implement prevention and health education programs. Ceccarelli-Wolf, Sally Sally Ceccarelli-Wolf was the Water Resource Analyst with Arizona American Water for 8 years. Prior to that, Sally worked at the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality for more than 14 years as a Drinking Water Enforcement Officer, Drinking Water Compliance Officer and a Research Analyst in the Hazardous Waste Division.
