Class Information for Winter 2019: STARGAZING THE NIGHT SKY, 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm, Thursday April 11, Pebblebrook Golf Course (W100)
View the night sky through telescopes and binoculars. Learn how to find and identify bright stars and constellations, the legends behind them and other interesting sky facts and fiction. View the moon, the planets and deep space objects like star clusters, nebulae and galaxies through our telescopes. Everyone attending will receive a sky map for February and learn how to use it. Bring your camera (cellphone, tablet or simple digital camera) to take pictures of the craters on the Moon! High-power green lasers will be used to sketch out the constellations in the sky, identify the planets and name the bright stars. This class includes an outdoor presentation on the night sky followed by telescope viewing in the park. Dress warm, as it cools down after sunset.
