Class Information for Winter 2020: DREAMS: THEIR FUNCTION AND MEANING, Tuesday, February 25, 1:00-3:00pm, RH Johnson Lecture Hall, (726)

Have you ever wondered if there is a purpose for dreaming or what your dreams are all about? What is your brain doing when you sleep and dream? Why is it hard to remember your dreams and why do they seem so bizarre? If dreams have “meaning” then how do I understand them? Do they contain a guiding “wisdom” that helps us better adapt to life? Are we learning in dreams – whether we remember them or not? Why do we have nightmares? Is it possible to influence our dreams? Do dreams ever reach beyond the senses? Based on the latest research and psychological theory, this course will answer these and many more questions about the amazing and often mysterious world of dreams.
